Update Take Profit
Moving the target on a live position.
Update Take Profit changes where a trade takes profit, after it is already running.
Where to find it
Main menu → 📋 Positions → 🏁 Update Take Profit
Pick a position from the list, and the form opens:
🏁 New Take Profit
──────────────────
Symbol: BTCUSDT
Current Take Profit: $78116.20
New Take Profit: —
Applies to every open leg at once. Each leg's existing orders are cancelled
and recreated at its own stop loss with the new take profit. Both numbers are shown on purpose. A panel with a single "Take Profit" line gives you no way to tell a deliberate move from a typo — seeing the current target beside the new one does.
It applies to the whole trade
Unlike a stop loss, which each leg keeps its own version of, the take profit is one target for the position. Setting a new one applies to every open leg at once.
To do that, the bot cancels each leg's existing exchange orders and recreates them: same leg, same stop loss it already had, new take profit.
Stops are recreated, not just edited
Each leg's stop is rebuilt at exactly the value it already had, including a stop that was moved to entry by a breakeven mark — that is preserved, not reset.
Use 🔍 Preview first if you want to see the resulting orders before committing.
The buttons
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| 🏁 Take Profit | Type the new target. Required — Send refuses without it. |
| 🔍 Preview | Shows what the change would produce, without touching any order. |
| 🚀 Send | Applies it. |
Rejections
| Message | What happened |
|---|---|
| Take profit on the wrong side | The new target is below the current price on a Buy, or above it on a Sell — the trade would take profit instantly at a loss. |
| No open position | The position closed between opening the panel and sending. |
